I forgot what time of year it is, and went to Diagon Alley for my lunch break yesterday. Mon dieu, is it busy! All the little children bustling around getting ready for school. It's enough to make me nostalgic, and I had never even heard of Diagon Alley until I was 17. It's a little bittersweet thinking that Victoire will be there in 6 years, and Dominque in 10. My little girls. They're already growing so fast, I don't want to think of them that old. Before I know it, they'll be all grown up and won't need their mama at all. That's all too much to think about.
It also made me think of how the way we think about time changes when we get older. Summer doesn't mean quite what it used to now, does it? Sure, it's still fun because we get to take holidays and the weather is nice, but we don't count down to it or more the loss of it like we used to, do we? Well, at least I don't. I suppose that changes when you're children are older, though, and you think more on their concept of time than your own.
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed their summer, even if it wasn't quite as exciting as it was when they were younger.
